I have to say I am blessed to have lived in such different places. To have had the experience of living in different cultures: the Midwest, East Coast, and the South East. Having lived here in South Carolina for 1.5 years, I have really grown to love what the area has to offer and simply what there is to do in my backyard.
This post is about a hike I did about 2 weeks back. Marla and I checked out Chimney Rock. Fun fact about Chimney Rock is that approximately the last bit of the Last of the Mohicans was filmed there. With that being said, I should probably watch that again so I can be that annoying person that’s said they’ve been there.
We went on a Friday and it was extremely busy, at least the main attraction areas were. Despite the numbers of people the view was so worth it! Another interesting fact is that there is an elevator that you can ride up to the top. It is currently out of service, but I must the hike and all the steps were worth it. Nothing like countless steps to get your heart rate up. It was a toasty day as well so I think Marla was a little pissed at me, but we eventually made it to the top of the falls and she thoroughly enjoying laying down in the water streams.
The pictures don’t do the views justice, but please enjoy the beautiful scenery and, of course, a head shot of Marls.
